Conducting Criminal Record Checks in Idaho

Idaho has criminal background check laws for employment for school district personnel, child care centers, personal care centers, healthcare providers and lottery workers.

Each school district may require all persons hired for the first time or who have been in the employ of the district for five years or less to undergo a criminal history check. Persons who have been convicted of a felony will be subject to immediate termination or other action. Persons employed for more than five years may be required to undergo criminal history checks.

The Idaho securities act registration requirements for broker-dealers, salespersons and investment advisors include the submission of fingerprints, unless waived, to the Director of Finance.
