Colorado employees, private and public, who are entitled to vote at a general election may take time off work to vote.
Paid time off rules. Up to two hours may be take off to vote without loss of wages.
Advance notice requirements. The employee must apply for leave of absence prior to election day, and the employer may designate the hours that employees may take off to vote, but the designated hours must be at the beginning or ending of a workshift if the employee so requests.
When time off not allowed. These provisions are inapplicable if the employee has three hours on election day between the opening and closing of polls during which he or she is not working.
